When mono is better
- One earbud or one speaker: nothing that was only on the other side gets lost.
- Voice recordings and podcasts: a voice stuck in one ear sounds odd; mono puts it in the middle.
- Smaller files: a mono WAV is half the size of a stereo one.
Both channels are mixed together, so you keep everything that was on either side.
Voice only on one side?
Some recordings have the voice on just the left or right channel. Mono fixes that too. Turn on Auto loudness as well if it ends up quiet.

How to installQuestions and answers
Does converting to mono lose quality?
It removes the left-right stereo image, but keeps all the sound from both sides. For speech you won't hear a difference.
Will the file be smaller?
A mono WAV or FLAC is about half the size. For MP3 the size depends mostly on the bitrate you choose.
