Normalize audio online

Bring any recording or song to an even, standard loudness, so quiet files are clear and loud ones don't blast. A limiter keeps it clean.

What normalizing does

Auto loudness measures how loud the whole file sounds to a listener, not just its loudest peak, and brings it to about the same level streaming apps use. A limiter then catches the loudest moments so nothing crackles. Quiet recordings become clear; files that were already loud are left close to how they were.

Several files at the same loudness

Making a playlist or a podcast with several clips? Normalize each one, or put them together with the Audio Joiner and turn on Even out volume there.

Still too quiet?

Raise the Volume slider in Effects as well, or use the Volume Booster.

Questions and answers

What is audio normalization?

Adjusting a file so its overall loudness reaches a standard level. MeloCut uses loudness normalization, which matches how loud it sounds rather than only its highest peak.

Will normalizing distort my audio?

No. A limiter keeps the peaks under control, so the result is louder without clipping.

Can I normalize several files at once?

Normalize them one by one here, or join them with the Audio Joiner and turn on Even out volume.
