How to convert an iPhone voice memo to MP3
Voice Memos are saved as M4A files. Some Android phones, cars, websites and forms only accept MP3. Here is how to convert one.
1. Save the memo to Files
- Open Voice Memos and tap the recording.
- Tap ⋯ (or the Share button) → Save to Files, and save it in Downloads.
2. Convert it to MP3
- Open M4A to MP3 in Safari and choose the memo from Files.
- Want only part of it? Drag on the waveform to select it.
- Choose 128 kbps for speech (small file) or 192 kbps for music.
- Press Convert, then Download. The MP3 is in Files → Downloads.
Make it sound better first
Recorded in a noisy room or too quiet? Use the AI Noise Remover instead. It cleans and evens out the voice and saves an MP3 in one go. The voice memo guide walks through it.
