Where are my downloads?
Downloaded a file and can't find it? Here's where it goes on each device.
iPhone and iPad
- Open the Files app → Browse → On My iPhone (or iCloud Drive) → Downloads.
- Tap the file to play it, or long-press → Share to send it to WhatsApp, GarageBand or another app.
Android
- Open the Files or My Files app → Downloads.
- Most music players find new MP3s on their own. If yours doesn't, move the file to the Music folder.
Samsung phones
- Open My Files → Downloads, or Audio to see every sound file on the phone.
- In Samsung Internet, the menu (☰) → Downloads also lists them.
Windows and Mac
- Open your Downloads folder in File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
- In Chrome you can also press Ctrl+J on Windows or ⌘+Shift+J on Mac to see recent downloads.
Nothing downloaded?
- Make sure you pressed the green Download button after converting. The first button only converts.
- On iPhone, Safari may ask "Do you want to download…?". Tap Download, then look for the blue arrow in the address bar.
- Check whether your browser saves to a different folder: in Safari go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads, in Chrome open Settings → Downloads.
Getting the file into your music app
On Android, most music players pick up new MP3s by themselves, or after you move them to the Music folder. On iPhone the Music app only takes songs synced from a computer, so play your files from the Files app or a player like VLC, or send them to yourself in WhatsApp.
Questions and answers
Why is my file called something different?
MeloCut keeps your original name and adds what you did in brackets, for example "song (ringtone).m4r", so the original is never overwritten.
Can I change where downloads go?
Yes. Each browser has a Downloads setting where you can pick a folder or ask every time.
